Social issues, intimate issues
This book explores the multiple and prolific intersections between so-called social issues and supposedly intimate matters. Two spheres that are never isolated in everyday life, in the reality of societies, individuals, and groups: neither operates independently, neither obeys exclusively its own laws. Incomprehensible, therefore, they are pointlessly complicated if imagined as two completely autonomous entities. Rather than reciprocal influences, the fact is that each sphere impacts the other, conditions it, and simultaneously endures its impacts. These are not two worlds but two registers of the one and only world that exists.
In this dynamic, the connection between "the logic of ideology and the logic of the unconscious" plays a decisive role. This connection, indeed, is because every unconscious configuration is ideologically charged, and every ideology entails an unconscious dimension. Both exist at the heart of social affairs and intimate matters. Such is the key to understanding proposed by this book. Keys tested on specific cases: aging, victimology, physical and mental health, suicide, and, ultimately, social innovation.
